Pre-Filming Blog

  My partner and I still have not begun filming. As the days get closer to filming day we become more prepared. We know exactly everything we have to do. Everyone who we need to film with us is also prepared. We have all our props and know exactly what we need to bring. My partner and her little brother are ready. We will start on March 28th, which is a Saturday. The first location will be at my partner's house and then we will move on to my house. However, we will film at my house the next day. We will film during the daytime to ensure we have good lighting. Also, our film is planned to be filmed during the daytime anyways. This process shouldn't take us long but you never know. We could face challenges but the important part is we get what we need to do done. It's our responsibility to make sure everything is done correctly. Like I've stated, we don't want to waste time and have to refilm. We scheduled our time perfectly so in the off-chance we do need to refilm, we will. The editing process is what we're excited out. It's been my favorite part about our previous projects. It's very satisfying to have everything come together. That is defiantly the part I look forward to the most.

  Before: Once I finished filming and made sure I had all my scenes and looked back at them to make sure I was happy with them. I also deleted any extra videos saved in my camera roll that was not going to be used. Now, I started my editing process. During: During my editing process I officially sat down and began working on my commercial. The editing software that I used was Cute Cut Pro. I added the first scene of my commercial and cut up any extra time. Then, I added the next scene and made sure that the transition was clean and not choppy. I noticed that already with my first two scenes, my commercial was already 14 seconds. I felt like I needed to cut it up more. I tried to make it so each scene added up to 5 seconds. Editing Blog for my Music Video

 Before: Now that my partner and I finished filming all our scenes we began editing. At this point, we had realized the mistake that we had made. We forgot that we needed to film our video horizontally and not vertically. We couldn't go back and retake the scenes because it was already dark outside.  During: When I was younger I would make random edits of my favorite celebrities and influencers. Because of this I already had some minor experience with using editing software. I did most of the editing but my partner was the creative director behind it. The first part was picking a good part of the song to use for our music video. I went on Youtube and Suzie suggested using the part of the song where there is less singing because it would fit better with our video. We did just that and got the 30 seconds of the song we needed. Lip-gloss Commercial Blog

 Youtube Link:  https://youtu.be/m8puPEq23A4     My overall experience with this commercial project was great. I really love the product I chose, I use it often and think its a great lip-gloss. When it comes to production, I enjoyed the way I filmed my project and edited it. I think it really represents who I am and the passion I have for makeup and beauty. The filming was pretty smooth and enjoyable. Editing was also fun, after I figured out home to do transitions and how to make my commercial the right length. I wish I would have incorporated all the aspects that I had on my storyboard and in my head into my commercial. However, I had limited time and wasn't able to fully create the commercial I wanted to. However, I am still very proud of what I created and think it's really close to what I intended it to be.
