AICE Media Studies Music Video

    My overall experience with this music video was great.  I really enjoyed filming it and the editing process was very simple. At first, I was concerned that the theme we planned on doing was going to be too casual. However, I think the video and the song fit very well together. Doing a song by Michael Jackson was also really awesome, as he is one of my favorite artists. When planning our music video we switched back and forth with ideas. We weren't too sure exactly what we wanted to do at the park. The only thing that was set in stone from the get co was our location. From there we decided what exactly we wanted to do, we chose to have a picnic. Filming that was fairly easy, it took us a while to find a good spot to set up but we found a good one. We did take a little while to film because we couldn't keep a straight face. Our next scenes also took a while because we weren't sure how exactly to film it but we got it down. Coming back to my house from the park was great, from there everything went smoother. We filmed the scene we were most excited about which was playing Just Dance. It is our favorite game that we are constantly playing. The last scenes were also really quick to film and then we got to editing. Unfortunately, like I've stated previously, we filmed most of our scenes vertically forgetting we needed to do it horizontally. We couldn't go back to retake the scenes because it was nightfall. We worked with what we had but I am very pleased with the outcome. After completing the editing process, our last step was to add a filter over the video and I think that was really the cherry on top. This was a really fun project and there is defiantly room for improvements but it was a great experience.

  Before: Once I finished filming and made sure I had all my scenes and looked back at them to make sure I was happy with them. I also deleted any extra videos saved in my camera roll that was not going to be used. Now, I started my editing process. During: During my editing process I officially sat down and began working on my commercial. The editing software that I used was Cute Cut Pro. I added the first scene of my commercial and cut up any extra time. Then, I added the next scene and made sure that the transition was clean and not choppy. I noticed that already with my first two scenes, my commercial was already 14 seconds. I felt like I needed to cut it up more. I tried to make it so each scene added up to 5 seconds. Editing Blog for my Music Video

 Before: Now that my partner and I finished filming all our scenes we began editing. At this point, we had realized the mistake that we had made. We forgot that we needed to film our video horizontally and not vertically. We couldn't go back and retake the scenes because it was already dark outside.  During: When I was younger I would make random edits of my favorite celebrities and influencers. Because of this I already had some minor experience with using editing software. I did most of the editing but my partner was the creative director behind it. The first part was picking a good part of the song to use for our music video. I went on Youtube and Suzie suggested using the part of the song where there is less singing because it would fit better with our video. We did just that and got the 30 seconds of the song we needed. When it comes to production, I enjoyed the way I filmed my project and edited it. I think it really represents who I am and the passion I have for makeup and beauty. The filming was pretty smooth and enjoyable. Editing was also fun, after I figured out home to do transitions and how to make my commercial the right length. I wish I would have incorporated all the aspects that I had on my storyboard and in my head into my commercial. However, I had limited time and wasn't able to fully create the commercial I wanted to. However, I am still very proud of what I created and think it's really close to what I intended it to be.
