Editing Blog for my Music Video

Before: Now that my partner and I finished filming all our scenes we began editing. At this point, we had realized the mistake that we had made. We forgot that we needed to film our video horizontally and not vertically. We couldn't go back and retake the scenes because it was already dark outside.

During: When I was younger I would make random edits of my favorite celebrities and influencers. Because of this I already had some minor experience with using editing software. I did most of the editing but my partner was the creative director behind it. The first part was picking a good part of the song to use for our music video. I went on Youtube and Suzie suggested using the part of the song where there is less singing because it would fit better with our video. We did just that and got the 30 seconds of the song we needed. The software we used to edit is Cute Cut Pro, I've used this software multiple times because it is so easy to use and makes editing so much more enjoyable. I gathered all our clips and put them together. Making sure all of them were around the same length. I had to make sure the video doesn't go below or above 30 seconds. I showed my partner what we had so far to make sure she liked it and see if she had any suggestions. After getting the right length, we began choosing our transitions. We wanted to make sure the video flowed smoothly and wasn't choppy. This was definitely the funniest part because seeing our music video almost complete was very satisfying. When almost being done, we noticed there was a part where I forgot to mute one of our scenes. So I went back and fixed it real quick. The last step was to brighten the video up a bit since it looked a bit gloomy. We turned up the brightness and saturation to really make it look bright and happy.

After: Now that we finished our music video, the last step is to wait and turn it in.
