Planning for my Music Video

Song Title: Black or White, Michael Jackson 

Props: The location of our music video will be a park, located one block away from my house. Anything that we use at the park will be considered our props. Whether this is a set of swings, a park bench, or any other interesting things we find at the park. The vibe of the music video will be very casual and realistic but meaningful. Also, a picnic basket, lipgloss, and blush. 

Costumes: The music video will be fairly simple and not as flashy. We most likely will wear what we do on a daily basis. My usual style is a pair of baggy jeans with a t-shirt and some all-white shoes. Suzie's style is more on the streetwear side. Oversized t-shirts with biker shorts and some cool sneakers. For the project, we don't have a specific outfit but it will be definitely be something casual. Jackson's song was made in the '90s and we considered basing our style like that for the video. However, we wanted the meaning of the video to be the most important part of the project. We didn't want our clothes to take away from that.

Schedule: Since I will be out of town for Thanksgiving break to visit my family for the first time in many months. We will begin our filming after the break. Between the dates of November 30- December 5th. 

Location: We will be filming our entire music video in a park located near my house. The park is right next to a school. It has many playgrounds for kids but also a large field of grass where we will be filming most of our scenes. Specifically, there are a set of benches and sitting spots where we can be creative and have fun. Which is the mood we cant in our music video.

Backup Plan: In the worst case, if it rains and we aren't able to go to the park. We will recreate all those same scenes in my house instead since the park is a block away from my house. It might not give off the same vibe but the meaning and creativity will all still be seen in our video.

  Before: Once I finished filming and made sure I had all my scenes and looked back at them to make sure I was happy with them. I also deleted any extra videos saved in my camera roll that was not going to be used. Now, I started my editing process. During: During my editing process I officially sat down and began working on my commercial. The editing software that I used was Cute Cut Pro. I added the first scene of my commercial and cut up any extra time. Then, I added the next scene and made sure that the transition was clean and not choppy. I noticed that already with my first two scenes, my commercial was already 14 seconds. I felt like I needed to cut it up more. I tried to make it so each scene added up to 5 seconds. Editing Blog for my Music Video

 Before: Now that my partner and I finished filming all our scenes we began editing. At this point, we had realized the mistake that we had made. We forgot that we needed to film our video horizontally and not vertically. We couldn't go back and retake the scenes because it was already dark outside.  During: When I was younger I would make random edits of my favorite celebrities and influencers. Because of this I already had some minor experience with using editing software. I did most of the editing but my partner was the creative director behind it. The first part was picking a good part of the song to use for our music video. I went on Youtube and Suzie suggested using the part of the song where there is less singing because it would fit better with our video. We did just that and got the 30 seconds of the song we needed. Lip-gloss Commercial Blog

 Youtube Link:  https://youtu.be/m8puPEq23A4     My overall experience with this commercial project was great. I really love the product I chose, I use it often and think its a great lip-gloss. When it comes to production, I enjoyed the way I filmed my project and edited it. I think it really represents who I am and the passion I have for makeup and beauty. The filming was pretty smooth and enjoyable. Editing was also fun, after I figured out home to do transitions and how to make my commercial the right length. I wish I would have incorporated all the aspects that I had on my storyboard and in my head into my commercial. However, I had limited time and wasn't able to fully create the commercial I wanted to. However, I am still very proud of what I created and think it's really close to what I intended it to be.
