Introduction to the Music Video Project

 Introduction: For this project, I will be working with my fellow friend, Suzie Louis. I chose to work with this person because we have known each other for 5 years. We are very close and I know she does her work on time and is very responsible. She lives 5 minutes away from me so we can come over any time to complete our project. Also, we share interests in music and have a passion for it. We love all genres of music. Her favorite genre is rap and mine is alternative music. However, we love the 2000's music and classics. The song we decided to chose for our music video is Black or White by Michael Jackson. We chose this song because it tells the story that race is not a factor in friendships, relationships, and overall society. We all should be treated equally and racism is still a huge factor in today's society. Black men and women have been dealing with it for centuries and especially now, with current events. Suzie and I have an interracial friendship and we strongly believe in equality. We both are allies of the Black Lives Matter movement.  Jackson wrote this song describing his experiences as a black man. How he dealt with racism and how he overcame it. We want to tell the story that there is no reason to have so much hate for people who look different than you. When Jackson wrote almost 30 years ago, equality was almost achieved for black people but since then it seems like we have taken steps backward. We want to remind everyone that there is way more to people than what they look like on the outside. It doesn't matter if you're black or white!
